We give our drivers a big say on the equipment we provide them, and when it comes to their trucks, it’s the DAF XF every time. We’ve run Scania and MAN before, but our drivers insist the DAF is where they want to work. From an operational point of view, the DAFs we operate can be away from base for three weeks or more without requiring an AdBlue top-up. The other makes we’ve run won’t last a fraction of that time, and we end up paying a premium for AdBlue on the forecourt.

We’ve used them in the past, it’s historic. The service is always pretty good, I have no criticism there. We’ve had a few problems in the past but at the moment everything seems OK. I’d recommend them, they’ve been pretty good with us.
They’re competitive and local. The staff are amazing and they always do a good job with the the trucks and they’re a reputable company. I would recommend them because they get the job done.
We’ve used them for so long now. I only use the parts side and deliveries. The deliveries are usually regular. The staff are pretty good. There’s always room for improvement, sometimes they mess up on my deliveries, just little things that don’t really matter. I’d recommend them because the service has always been good and Paul, the Rep, has always got me what I’ve wanted and found out the information I’ve needed.
They sell DAF trucks. The people that I deal with are as good as what I would expect and over the years they’ve become friends as well. The Service Department, I don’t use them because in the past there’s been time delays in getting work done. Sales and Parts are brilliant though, especially Martin Heaven, he is very good.
They used to be Cardiff Truck and they’re our local DAF dealer. We get good parts service, a friendly service, they’re efficient and prompt. We mostly use them for parts. We have a good relationship with them. If something hasn’t been delivered on time, we manage to sort it out between ourselves. I’d recommend them because of the service we get from them.

The company I work for use DAF vehicles and they’re the DAF dealer in our area. I use them for convenience for my MOT’s. They’re quite helpful and when the work load is really busy they will still try to accommodate us, which is all they can do really. They could give a little bit more feed back about when the vehicles will be ready and how long they will be. It’s hard for me to say though because they might update our Head Office and I don’t get to know about it.

We’ve always had DAF vehicles. They’re helpful and competitive with price. The service department, at the Swansea branch don’t seem to be very helpful though.
We chose them for their parts. They get back to me quickly with a quote. I’ve had a few issues lately with them saying that parts will be delivered the next day by 12pm and they don’t turn up, which has a massive impact on us. They’ve been let down by their courier but it’s not been communicated to me, unless I raise it. I know that issues can arise and that’s fine but they need to keep the lines of communication open.
We have a lot of repair and maintenance with them. The service is top notch, we never have a problem with them at all. I’d recommend them because I get an excellent service off them. They are quite flexible, if I need anything last minute they will do their best to fit me in and their follow up is very good as well. Their vehicle knowledge is very good, and their after sales. It’s been a continuation from Cardiff Truck centre, which has been using Watts for about 30 years. They are the main DAF dealership and there’s certain parts that you can only get from them. We have a good discounted structure for our parts. If we order parts we are near enough guaranteed to get them that day, they deliver to us up to 3 times a day. The knowledge of the parts people makes your life a lot easier, For example if you call them up to say your vehicle is making a funny noise, most of the time they can tell you the part that you need, it’s very good service. If we have any issue they fix them straight away. I’d recommend them for their expertise, we get well looked after, it’s good delivery and their knowledge of products. It’s great.
They’re DAF agents and all of our vehicles are DAF. I value their reliability. They come out when they say they will. I would recommend them because of their reliability, service and customer attitude, the way they treat their customer is good.
I didn’t want to go with Imperial, I wanted to stay with Watts Truck & Van. They’re friendly people at Newport. Everything has been good, I can’t fault them. If I have got a problem and I speak to them, it’s dealt with straight away. I would recommend them because they’re friendly and helpful.
We’ve recently re-struck up a relationship having DAF vehicles with them but we’ve used them historically for MOT’s. They are our preferred supplier and they are immediately local. They have good communication. I haven’t given them a 5 rating because we’ve only recently struck up the relationship with the DAF vehicles so I wouldn’t want them to have nothing to work towards. I’d recommend them though, based on the communication.
We use them for cost reasons. It’s generally OK but they need to concentrate on their attention to detail. I was expecting a part, we met them to collect the part and they had forgotten to order it. It’s little things like that. I would recommend them for the general level of service and cost.
We’ve been with them for about 30 years. it’s their capability, turning things around very quickly and the staff are excellent. They could stop charging me for nuts and bolts, 10p here and 20p there. It all adds up over 30 years. I would recommend them though for the reasons I’ve mentioned and because they are helpful.
They’re the local dealer for DAF vehicles and we have DAF vehicles in our fleet. It’s very good knowing that problems are resolved quickly, it’s just generally a good service. I would recommend them to others, the customer focus is very good.
They are the closest DAF dealership. There’s a very good relationship that we’ve built up between Alex, on the front desk and Ben, the Manager. I would recommend them because I’ve always found them to be very professional in the way they conduct their business.
They’re local to our depot. The turnaround time is acceptable, it suits our needs. Sometimes I have issues with the invoices, they email me the majority of the time and then sometimes I get a duplicate one in the post. If I wasn’t on the ball I’d be paying for them twice. This isn’t an every day occurrence though, it just happens every now and again.
I’ve been working for my local authority for 10 years now and they lead me to believe that this is the best place and it seems to work very well. The speed of service is very good and the quality of parts is very good. I’d highly recommend them due to the customer service and the rep pops in every now and again to clarify that every thing is OK.

We use Watts because historically over the last 40 years we’ve used DAF trucks. They have prompt delivery of parts, which is pretty good, the vehicles are collected on time and returned from servicing. The cost of parts is quite expensive, that’s my biggest problem and when I do call up for parts prices I would appreciate an aftermarket price, automatically.
I’ve inherited the job but I would have chosen them as they are a DAF main dealer and they are in reasonably close proximity to where our site is. They have given a reasonably good service over the related short period that I’ve dealt with them with regards to the repairs and maintenance of the vehicles concerned. They just need to provide better communication and staff stability. It would also be good if they were ATF for MOT’s and on TACO Centre, that would make them a lot more attractive.
We were directed by our central compliance team to use Watts Truck and Van. They have a prompt service. They are working on their paper trail, things weren’t being signed off and returned with the vehicles but they are working on it at the moment.

Although the communication is good, there are times when they fail to make the phone call by night, if there’s an issue with the truck they’re servicing. We use Watts Truck and Van because it’s a national thing, this location is the closest to where we work from. We get a personal touch from all of the guys who work there. They always ring me if there’s an issue with a vehicle and they will make every effort to collect the vehicles. We have that close bond with them. They are professional and have good quality workmanship.

They are the main dealers for DAF. The service is excellent, the communication is second to none and we’ve developed such a good relationship, it’s like one large family. They take care of our needs, if there’s an issue they pick up the phone and advise us of which way to go. They have an incredible team. The turnaround of the repairs of the vehicles is very very quick. I can’t fault them with regards to my fleet.
We contracted them, we’re happy with the quickness of the repairs. I have had a couple of issues recently though. I had a problem with one of my vans, where the work that was carried out was poor. It had to be taken back and re done. Other than that they have been very good, the staff are great, Sarah who works in reception is brilliant.

Our vehicles are on a 6 year lease from Ryder Truck and Rental, Watts are a Swansea based company and so are we. They are pretty prompt and we’ve got a good relationship with them. We did have an issue where a vehicle failed an MOT and we weren’t informed about it. It’s now put points against our operators licence and it’s out of our hands because Ryders own the vehicle. I only found this out because Ryder phoned me and told me.
We chose them due to their reputation. They take ownership of issues and we have an open and honest relationship. Sometimes there just needs to be the finer attention to detail. The vast majority of service is top notch but unfortunately silly mistakes let them down. They’re only occasional but from an operational perspective it’s enough to have effect on us.
